Registered with the Charity Commission, the IWCT provides a formal, secure and accountable platform for anyone wishing to donate/bequest monies to a full array of Wolfhound related causes.

We are continuing via the Donate Button to raise funds for Nottingham University Veterinary School for a specialised lab freezer that goes down to -80. They have to be ignition proof, so standard freezers are no longer permitted. It will hold samples stored for investigations into genetic diseases of all species inc IWH. The IWCT has offered to donate £4000, which is about half the cost, and Uni will pay the other half. If you wish to make a donation please following the link below.

Unified by a love for the Irish Wolfhound

The IWCT aims to make a difference by funding a wide variety of work ranging from research, to health and welfare organisations. All of which give Irish Wolfhounds a healthier, happier life. Supporting all things Irish Wolfhound.

inspiration over competition

Not so long ago the breed found itself on the ‘Vulnerable Native Breed’ list, which created a great deal of interesting discussion in the press and on social media around the general topic of Wolfhound breeding and brought to the fore an urgent need for those in the breed to be proactive.  The Kennel Club announced in March 2018 that Irish Wolfhound puppy registrations increased to 372 in 2017 – which is excellent news for the breed. The Irish Wolfhound will now be transferred to the ‘At Watch’ list, for British and Irish native breeds whose registrations number between 300 and 450.  Still, a long way to go, but heading in the right direction. Please continue to help and give generously:  Supporting Welfare, Health and Research. Connecting through shared experiences.
